Apple registers new iPad hardware, expected to be all-new 10.2-inch models
Apple has registered unreleased iPad models in the Eurasian Economic Commission database, expected to be the all-new 10.2-inch iPad hardware rumored to be launched later this year.
The database, which companies are legally required to list encrypted devices sold or due to be sold in Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia, has a proven track record of showing new Apple hardware months before their official release.
Now, the database is showing two new iPads, with never-before-seen identifiers of A2200 and A2232. The new models sit alongside several unreleased iPad models with the identifiers A2197, A2228, A2068, A2198, and A2230 which are said to run iOS 13 at launch, suggesting they’ll arrive after September this year.
Apple’s rumored new 10.2-inch iPad is expected to be a replacement for the entry-level $329 9.7-inch iPad. The filings don’t share very much information about the new hardware, although the new model is expected to remain as a lower-price device, most likely retaining Touch ID.
