Apple to launch ‘AirPods 3’ at the end of the year, including waterproofing features
Within a report published today by financial services and investments company Wedbush Securities, the firm claims Apple will launch its next-generation AirPods, dubbed “AirPods 3”, later this year with waterproofing features.
According to the report, the new AirPods will be priced slightly higher than the current-generation version which launched in March this year, with the earbuds supposedly receiving design changes to allow for waterproofing and improved acoustics.
Rumors of Apple planning a premium pair of AirPods have been surfacing for quite some time. The higher priced “AirPods 3” will likely come in a new black color option and could also include noise cancellation technology.
Apple’s most recent AirPods upgrade was somewhat of a disappointment. Leading up to the release in March, it was widely believed the new earbuds would pack a lot more than a new chip, improved battery life and support for hands-free Hey Siri.
