Apple offering 6 month free trial of Apple Music to students
Apple has doubled the length of its free trial of Apple Music, offering students who are new to the service 6 months of free listening when registering for a student plan.
The extended length trial is double of what is offered to regular users looking to join the service. – Once the trial ends, students will then be charged $4.99 per-month, $5 less than the usual $9.99 monthly subscription fee.
As spotted by Appleosophy, Apple is encouraging new users to sign up to the service on a new Back to School page on Apple.com which highlights Apple’s free Beats headphones promotion for qualifying students purchasing selected Mac and iPad hardware.
To be eligible for the 6 months free subscription, you must be new to Apple Music and be a student who can verify their identity through UNiDAYS which requires an active student email.
