Apple promotes apps from WWDC scholarship winners in App Store
Apple has created a new editorial piece in the App Store within the Today tab, showcasing apps developed by this year’s WWDC scholarship winners.
The scholars, who won a free ticket to WWDC and lodging for the conference, have been judged on the quality of their Swift Playground coding submission and written answers.
Winners have been chosen from over 20 countries and regions around the world, and have been given the opportunity to meet personally with Apple CEO Tim Cook, Apple marketing executive Greg Joswiak, and vice president of software engineering operations Cheryl Thomas to demo their apps.
Apps featured in the new section include ByTrain by Alexander MacLeod, DrinkCare by Hengyu Zhou, and Bouncy Ball by Lukas Gauster.
Each scholar received a special scholarship t-shirt, badge, and magnetic pins, as well as the reversible WWDC jackets gifted to attendees.
