Apple Pay arrives in Iceland
Apple has unexpectedly released Apple Pay support to iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Mac users in Iceland, allowing those banking with Landsbankinn and Arion banki to add their credit or debit card to the Wallet app and begin making in-store and online Apple Pay purchases.
Overtime additional Icelandic banks are expected to adopt Apple Pay support, though no timeframe or roadmap has been shared.
Those who don’t immediately see the Apple Pay onboarding screen in the Wallet app should restart their iPhone, forcing the app to refresh and show the set-up process.
Apple Pay er komið til Íslands. Það er ótrúlega þægilegt að nota símann til að borga fyrir vörur og þjónustu, enda erum við flest með hann við höndina hvar sem við komum. Það er einfalt að tengja kort við Apple Pay og virkja þjónustuna. pic.twitter.com/mQiFRrZZlV

With the addition of Iceland, Apple Pay is now live in 34 total countries. Apple CEO Tim Cook said earlier this year that Apple Pay will be available in over 40 countries and regions by the end of 2019.
