Apple’s ECG app for Apple Watch Series 4 is available in these 19 countries
Apple has released watchOS 5.2, bringing its once US-exclusive ECG app for Apple Watch Series 4 to users in Hong Kong and 19 countries across Europe.
Launched on Wednesday, Apple rolled-out its highly anticipated ECG app allowing watch wearers to perform an electrocardiogram to show whether their heart rhythm indicates signs of atrial fibrillation, a serious form of irregular heart rhythm, or a normal sinus rhythm.
Speaking within a press release shared to the official Apple Newsroom, Jeff Williams, Apple’s chief operating officer said “We’ve seen the ECG App and irregular rhythm notifications on Apple Watch have meaningful impact on our customers across the United States. – We are excited to bring these features to customers in Europe and Hong Kong, giving them access to empowering information about their heart health.”
Owners of the Apple Watch Series 4 can enable the feature by downloading watchOS 5.2 now. Here’s a full list of Apple’s newly supported countries:

In addition to the ECG app, watchOS 5.2 allows owners of the second-generation “Hey Siri”-enabled AirPods to connect their earbuds with any Apple Watch Series 1 or above. The update also sees Apple add support for real-time text (RTT) for phone calls.
