Apple releases HomePod software update alongside iOS 12.2
Apple has launched a minor update to HomePod alongside the release of iOS 12.2.
The update is aimed specifically at university and enterprise users of HomePod, adding support for networks that do not require unique credentials to join, commonly used at enterprise and university campuses.
The update doesn’t appear to add any new features to HomePod, so those using the Siri-enabled speaker at home most likely won’t notice any improvements with this software release.

iOS 12.2 includes support for joining most enterprise or university campus 802.1x networks that do not require unique credentials to join.
The update will be automatically downloaded and installed once an iOS device connected to the speaker is updated to iOS 12.2.
