Apple announces Apple TV+ service for original Apple-made TV shows and movies
Apple has unveiled Apple TV+, a new TV subscription service for Apple’s range of original Apple-made TV shows and movies.
Unveiled alongside a large update to the Apple TV app earlier today, Apple TV+ is set to be the home for “the world’s most creative storytellers,” and will feature exclusive original TV shows, movies, and documentaries created by Apple themselves.
Former Sony Television executives Jamie Ehrlicht and Zack Van Amburg introduced the service following a brief introduction by Tim Cook, with the duo followed onto the stage by Steven Spielberg, Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, and Steve Carell, and Oprah Winfrey, to name a few who each shared their excitement to be part of the new Apple TV+ service.
Apple TV+ will be completely ad-free according to Tim Cook. During the announcement Apple showed small snippets from its first set of original Apple TV+ content, all of which can been viewed on Apple.com.
Pricing and availability for the Apple TV+ video subscription service will be announced later this fall. – Those with Family Sharing enabled will be able to shared Apple TV+ content and Apple TV Channels subscriptions with their family members.
