Concept imagines new ‘iPhone X Fold’ with flexible Super Retina display
Concept images from graphic designer Antonio De Rosa imagine how Apple could follow in the footsteps of rivals Samsung and Huawei by launching the “iPhone X Fold” – a new foldable iPhone featuring Touch ID embedded into the display, measuring 8.3-inches when completely unfolded and 6.6-inches when folded.
Shown in the video below, Antonio offers us our most detailed visualisation of a foldable iPhone, showing how Apple could adapt iOS to take advantage of the larger folding display.
This concepts shows widgets on along the right of the Home screen display when folded out, offering quick access to applications such as Music and Weather as well as the ability to use Siri, and more.
‘iPhone X Fold’ is essentially two side-by-side iPhones when folded out. The device in the concept features the same overall design as the current generation iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, but uses the rumored triple-lens rear camera within a square camera housing like the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, something expected to arrive with the iPhone XI later this year.
The device shown in the concept would offer users a 93.6% screen-to-body ratio when folded, and a 96.6% screen-t0-body ratio unfolded. Antonio goes on to imagine that Apple will release both a 512GB and 1TB version of the “iPhone X Fold” priced from $1,999.
Antonio’s ‘iPhone X Fold’ is based on very early reports from supply chain sources and rumors and should be taken with a pinch of salt. – What do you think of this concept?
