Unreleased iPad models found within Indian regulatory database
Two as-yet-unannounced iPad models have been uncovered within the Indian regulatory database, featuring the same model identifiers A2124 and A2133 which were first discovered in the Eurasian Economic Commission last month.
As spotted by MySmartPrice, the two new devices are listed under the Laptop / Notebook / Tablet category as a product manufactured by Foxconn in China and branded with an Apple logo.
The listings don’t reveal any information regarding the capabilities of the new devices, although reports suggest Apple will take to the stage late next month to possibly unveil the new iPad hardware alongside an upgraded version of AirPods and the final version of AirPower.
Apple is widely expected to be planning an updated version of the ageing iPad mini. In early January we saw leaks online claiming to show us the chassis for the unreleased next generation iPad mini 5, showing very few design changes compared to the current iPad mini hardware, with the exception of a new antenna band that forms the shape of a rounded rectangle, unlike the current iPad mini – the iPad mini 4 – which has a similar antenna design, but the rounded rectangle is filled in with plastic.
The new iPad mini will most likely be just an internal upgrade, although some suggest the new tablet will gain Apple Pencil support. Alongside the iPad mini 5, Apple is expected to release a an updated version of its $329 6th-generation iPad.
