Apple expected to release AirPower during first half of 2019, new iPod touch with faster processor rumored
Apple’s long-awaited AirPower wireless charging matt and next generation AirPods, dubbed AirPods 2, are both expected to arrive within the first half of 2019, according to leading industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
Kuo claims the new version of AirPods will feature wireless charging support and upgraded Bluetooth connectivity. The vague report doesn’t mention anything about a new black color option, health monitoring features or a possible new grip-inclined coating, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it won’t happen.
Within the research note Kuo claims Apple will release a new iPod touch during some point in the year with an improved processor. Again, the vague report doesn’t shed light on what to expect from the new iPod model, although previous reports have claimed the device will only feature minor upgrades to be positioned as an affordable iOS device to access Apple’s range of new and existing paid subscription services.
The report comes as Kuo claims Apple is planning a new iPad Pro, iPad mini, 10.2-inch iPad and ceramic Apple Watch in 2019.
