Apple launching HomePod in mainland China and Hong Kong on January 18th
Apple has announced it will be launching HomePod in mainland China and Hong Kong next week on Friday, January 18th.
Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing shared the news today via a press release on Apple.com following confirmation from the company last year confirming the Siri-speaker would be available in China during “early 2019”.
The launch of HomePod in mainland China and Hong Kong will see the speaker available in 9 countries in total around the world, including the US, UK, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Mexico, and Spain.
“HomePod is the perfect wireless speaker for music lovers. It delivers an unmatched music listening experience with high-fidelity sound wherever it is placed and creates a new way to discover and interact with music using Siri,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.
“We’re excited to bring HomePod to our customers in mainland China and Hong Kong markets. We can’t wait for them to experience how great it sounds in their home, we think they are going to love it.”
HomePod will be priced at 2,799 yuan in China and HK$2,799 in Hong Kong, available in both white and space gray color options. Apple will also offer AppleCare+ with the HomePod models, priced at 329 yuan/HK$349 for two years of coverage.
