Apple Pay reportedly launching in Germany as soon as tomorrow
Apple Pay could arrive to customers in Germany as soon as tomorrow according to German blog Macerkopf citing unnamed sources reportedly familiar with the plans.
An update to the German Apple Pay webpage on Apple.com has a new ‘Kommt bald’ (‘coming soon’) badge, and the website for German financial institution HypoVereinsbank also says ‘In Kürze bei uns: Apple Pay’ – another way of saying the same thing, notes Macerkopf.
Apple Pay has long been rumoured for Germany. “About Apple Pay” documentation appeared on Apple’s German webpage last year, and an early iOS 11 beta shared references to the mobile payment service and its various set-up steps.
Most recently Apple expanded its Apple Pay payment service to Belgium and Kazakhstan in late November. At launch mobile bank N26 and Comdirect will reportedly support the service in Germany from launch.
