Apple celebrates grand opening of its first store in Thailand
Apple has opened the doors of its first retail store in Thailand at Bangkok’s ICONSIAM shopping center, welcoming guests with a live performance from Thai band Polycat at the first Today at Apple session at the store, as well as with special Apple pin badges.
Hundreds of customers waited in line overnight to be the first through the doors of the new flagship Apple retail location, with more than 100 employees on hand speaking 10 languages. Like all modern Apple locations, Apple Iconsiam features bright light boxes which extend the length of the ceiling, powered on 100% renewable energy as Apple does with all of its global operations, including retail stores, offices, data centres, and more.
The store overlooks the Chao Phraya River, within walking distance of the new Iconsiam mixed-use development which will feature two large malls, hotels and residences. A new webpage on Apple.com describes the store as a place which will “inspire and spark creative ideas for the people in the community”.
Apple Iconsiam on the Chao Phraya River will be the centerpiece for people to exchange ideas, learn and create new things together. Here will be a place to inspire and spark creative ideas for the people in the community. We have prepared many interesting activities for you.
Following the grand opening, Apple has published official images of the launch.
