Apple’s new iPad Pro with Face ID is now available to order on Apple.com
Following its introduction today, Apple’s new iPad Pro with Face ID is now available to order from Apple.com.
As predicted, Apple has given iPad Pro an iPhone X-style redesign, ditching the Home Button in favour of Face ID which now works in both portrait and landscape orientations. Without the Home Button, Apple has been able to achieve a near edge-to-edge display with rounded corners.
Unlike the iPhone X, the TrueDepth camera system used for Face ID is not housed within a notch at the top at the screen. Instead, there is enough of a bezel around the edge to allow for the camera to be installed without entering into the main display area.
Apple reports the redesigned iPad Pro is faster than 92% of all portable PCs sold in the past 12 months. For the first time the new iPad model is a USB-C device, meaning the device can connect to high resolution 5K displays, data accessories, displays, accessories, and more. – You can even plug your iPhone into the iPad Pro and charge your iPhone on the go!
Alongside the launch of the new iPad Pro, Apple is introducing a next-generation Apple Pencil. The new Apple Pencil can wireless charge when magnetically connected to the corners of the iPad Pro.
The new iPad Pro starts at $799 for the 11″ model, with the 12.9″ starting at $999. Orders start today, arrive November 7.
