Apple has unveiled a fully redesigned USB-C 11-inch and 12.9-inch Face ID equipped iPad Pro, featuring LCD Liquid Retina Displays, an Apple-designed A12X Bionic chip with next-generation Neural Engine, and much more.
It’s finally here! After months of speculation Apple has finally given iPad Pro an iPhone X-style overhaul, removing Touch ID and the physical Home Button in favour of a near edge-to-edge display. Unlike the iPhone X, Apple has hidden the TrueDepth Camera System within the thin bezels of the tablet, meaning customers can enjoy a notch-less view of their iPad Pro display.
As you would expect, the new iPad Pro is available in both Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + Cellular configurations. iPad Pro is only available in Silver and Space Gray… no mention of a Gold or Rose Gold finish at this time. – iPad Pro is now sold in a 1TB storage configuration, starting off at 64GB, working its way up to 256GB, 512GB and then 1TB.
Face ID on iPad Pro works in both landscape and portrait orientation, meaning no matter how you hold the device, iPad Pro will be able to recognise your face for unlocking the tablet, creating and sending Animoji and Memoji, as well as making purchases through Apple Pay.
The new devices are reportedly faster than 92% of all portable PCs sold in the past 12 months thanks to Apple’s new A12X Bionic chip, four efficiency cores for up to 35 percent faster single-core performance and a new performance controller for simultaneous use of all eight cores for an up to 90 percent boost during multi-threaded tasks.
Apple has embedded 120 magnets within the new iPad Pro, allowing for strong connections for accessories. Talking of accessories, launching alongside the tablet is a next-generation Apple Pencil which charges wirelessly why magnetically attached to the side of the iPad.
USB-C has made an appearance on the iPad for the very first time, allowing users to connect their device to a wide range of external displays, data accessories, accessories, and more. iPad Pro now supports power transfer, meaning you can connect your iPhone to your iPad Pro and charge the iPhone on the go.
The redesigned iPad Pro models are available now to purchase on Apple.com, with the devices delivering to customers next week on November 7th. Customers can pickup the new iPad Pro from $799 for the 11-inch model, with the 12.9-inch variation starting at $999.
