Apple releasing its own official clear case for the iPhone XR
Apple has revealed that it will be releasing its own range of official accessories for the soon to be released iPhone XR starting at $55 (CAD) for a minimalistic clear case.
Discovered within Apple’s original iPhone XR press release on its Canadian online Newsroom, the company notes Apple-designed accessories for iPhone XR will be available for the device, something Apple failed to mention back in September when it unveiled the colourful new handsets, and not included within its other iPhone XR press releases.
While no official imagery has yet been shared of the clear case, a tipster has sent 9to5Mac an image (above) of what they claim to be one of the forthcoming iPhone XR accessories. Its unknown why Apple chose to purposely avoid the topic of iPhone XR accessories during its keynote and within its other press releases.
The case shown in the supposed “leaked” image really doesn’t show any ground-breaking design work by Apple… it’s what you would expect from a clear case, it’s clear and allows the colour of the iPhone to show through from all corners. It looks as if the iPhone XR case features an open bottom, similar to Apple’s range of iPhone XS & iPhone XS Max accessories, making it easy to perform swipe gestures to navigate around the device.
Featuring an edge-to-edge display and a single rear camera, iPhone XR is Apple’s lower-cost alternative to the iPhone XS. Including a new 6.1-inch LCD Liquid Retina display, Face ID and the same powerful A12 Bionic chip found with the new OLED models, iPhone XR is a powerful device that uses all but a few of Apple’s most sought after iPhone X/iPhone XS features.
Apple will begin pre-orders of all six colourful new iPhone XR models on October 19, with the device officially going on sale the following week on October 26th. iPhone XR will be priced at $749 for 64GB of storage, with 128GB selling for $799, and the 256GB configuration retailing for $899.
