Tim Cook pranked everyone with his ‘accidental’ Twitter DM yesterday
Tim Cook fooled us all yesterday just minutes before Apple kicked-off its highly anticipated September event with what at the time appeared to have been an ‘accidental’ tweet of what was intended to be a private Twitter direct message, but now the mysterious tweet makes perfect sense!
The “No. Who can get it here quickly?” tweet was retweeted by thousands of Tim Cook’s 10.9 million followers within seconds of it being shared before being swiftly deleted. At first, it looked as if Tim had made a rather embarrassing mistake, but actually it was a set-up ahead of the opening video of the event.
Apple started the event by playing a video (below) of an Apple employee sprinting through the new Apple Park headquarters in Cupertino, California carrying a mysterious box while the Mission Impossible theme played.
After numerous hurdles, the determined employee arrived at the Steve Jobs Theater and the secret box that had built up suspense throughout the video was opened and we finally saw inside… It wasn’t the new iPhone XS or the Apple Watch Series 4, but the Keynote clicker used to control the slides of the presentation.
