Apple Pencil won’t be compatible with Apple’s new iPhone models after all
Apple Pencil won’t be compatible with any of Apple’s forthcoming iPhone models after all according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who contradicts earlier reports that suggested that for the first time Apple would add stylus support to its 2018 iPhone models.
Within a report published on Monday which suggested Apple’s 6.1-inch “low-cost” iPhone model will ship “slightly later” than the other models launching in fall, the analyst shared that the company won’t be adding Apple Pencil support to the iPhone as it does not offer a “good user experience.”
One would presume that Apple will release a smaller, pocket-sized version of the Apple Pencil if the two next-generation iPhone models do indeed gain support for the stylus, and Apple could possibly release a new range of iPhone cases with Apple Pencil holders, however that is just speculation.
Almost every Apple enthusiast has seen the video of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs saying that “nobody wants a stylus” when announcing the very first iPhone in 2007, putting forward that no one wanted to bother with taking a stylus in and out of their pocket, or even risk losing it, and by the sounds of it Ming-Chi Kuo and the sources who backed-up his report agree too.
Only time will tell if Apple goes ahead and adds Apple Pencils support to the iPhone! European sources have suggested Apple will host its annual fall iPhone event on Wednesday, September 12 at the Steve Jobs Theater located at Apple Park.
