Apple to release Gold, Grey, Blue, Red, White and Orange iPhone models in September
Apple will release iPhone models in grey, white, blue, red, gold and orange in September according to ex-KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, dubbed the “best Apple analyst on the planet” by many who suggested the company will see significant growth in year-over-year iPhone shipments, with up to 70 million new iPhone models to be sold in the fourth quarter of 2018.
According to the report, Apple will release their upgraded iPhone X and larger iPhone X Plus in black, white and gold as seen previously in leaked images from the FCC, with their low-cost 6.1-inch LCD model apparently coming in ‘grey, white, blue, red and orange’.
Ming-Chi Kuo notes that the iPhone X Plus will be priced around the $1000 mark like the current iPhone X and will feature dual SIM capabilities. The 6.1-inch LCD iPhone will reportedly retail for around $700.
Just like the iPhone X, the 6.1-inch model is said to feature a full edge-to-edge display with the same slimline bezels and TrueDepth Camera System to allow for Face ID, and of course Animoji and Memoji coming with iOS 12.
Unlike the iPhone X, the low-cost 6.1-inch model is said to only feature one single camera on the rear (just like the iPhone 8), meaning its unlikely that customers will benefit from Portrait Mode, Apple’s depth-of-field photography feature. The device will most-likely feature an aluminum frame instead of a stainless steel frame, and it may not come equipped ready for wireless charging.
Few details have surfaced regarding the upgraded iPhone X and new iPhone X Plus, however; a report from Taiwan suggested that the larger Plus device would feature a triple-lensed rear camera system bringing a 6P lens design with 5x zoom, meaning the iPhone X Plus could feature not one, not two, but three rear cameras like the Huawei P20 Pro smartphone.
The iPhone X Plus is expected to feature up to 25 percent more battery capacity than the current iPhone X. No doubt that the two devices will receive upgraded internals and sharper front and rear facing cameras. Reports from Japan have said that the upcoming 6.5-inch iPhone (iPhone X Plus) will be similar in size to the 5.5-inch iPhone 8 Plus.
