Apple Music gains 10 million new users within 1 month
Within an interview with Bloomberg Television, Tim Cook has announced Apple Music has over 50 million active listeners, a 10 million user increase from last month when the company announced it had over 40 million paid subscribers across the world.
Although not all of the 50 million active listeners will be on a paid subscription, the quick monthly increase shows how fast Apple’s services devision is growing.
Recently Apple appointed long-time employee, Oliver Schusser, who has over 14 years of experience under his belt working at the Cupertino company, to the new Vice President of Apple Music and International Content. – Despite rumours that Apple Music executive, Jimmy Iovine, is planning to leave Apple later this year, Apple has reported that the promotion of Schusser will have no impact on Iovine’s standing with the company.
To increase listeners Apple appears to be in the midst of contacting users who took advantage of its 3-month free Apple Music trial but who didn’t choose to continue with a paid subscription by offering an extra month of free access to the music streaming service.
