Apple opening 400 free spots to this years Apple Developer Academy
Calling all young developers and students. Apple has opened up applications for this years Apple Developer Academy and is currently recruiting for 400 free places.
The program is open to students from anywhere in the world and tuition and living expenses (in Naples, Italy) are completely covered by Apple. In addition to that, those who are accepted will also receive a free Mac and iPhone.
The academy was first announced in early 2016 and has since partnered with the Università di Napoli Federico II. Apple’s first class of students graduated last June and consisted of 200 students and the company hopes to have 1000 students trained at the Academy by the summer of 2019.
The Developer Academy is open to students from across Italy and around the world with the current student intake including students from 25 different countries, from as far as Venezuela and Peru through India and Nigeria. Students from Italy come from 16 different regions across the country.
Applications are open to both students with an without previous coding experience and people without a computer science knowledge. Applications begin today and will run through the 8th of June. After reviewing the applications Apple will invite selected candidates to take a test and attend an interview in Naples, London, Munich or Paris.
