Apple launching special Earth Day Apple Watch Activity Challenge
Apple is celebrating Earth Day with a new Apple Watch Activity Challenge that encourages owners of the wearable to complete a workout of at least 30 minutes to receive a special achievement and unique set of stickers in iMessage.
Available until April 22nd, Apple notes notifications will begin to be sent on Friday to promote the new challenge.
Earlier in the month Apple announced that 100% of their global operations, including retail stores, offices, data centers, and more, are powered by 100% renewable energy. According to Apple, since 2011 their emphasis on the clean running of their global operations and projects has reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 54% and helped stop close to 2.1 million metric tons of CO2e from entering the atmosphere.
Apple has introduced a new Earth Day uniform in their stores across the globe, giving staff a limited edition green short-sleeved t-shirt and a long-sleeved black jacket. – On Thursday the company announced Daisy, its new iPhone disassembly robot that can pry apart 200 iPhone devices per-hour and separate their component parts for recycling.
