Apple releases iOS 11.3 for iPhone and iPad
Following an early rollout of the software exclusively for their new low-cost iPad with Apple Pencil support, Apple has today publicly released iOS 11.3, bringing “major updates to ARKit, Messages and more”, including new Animoji on iPhone X, the ability to view health records in the Health app, and more.
The update also brings new features to show a devices battery health, with the ability to make recommendations when a battery needs to be serviced, something Apple noted would launch within an iOS update last December follwoing a mass controversy over the announcement that Apple deliberately slows older iPhones with aging batteries to prevent performance issues.
iOS 11.3 launches ARKit 1.5 which can turn posters, signs and artwork into interactive AR experiences. – The new update will also add a new Health Records feature to the iOS Health app in the United Sates to make it easier to access and control health records and data.
Apple has added new lion, bear, dragon and skull Animoji, the first set of new characters since the launch of Animoji alongside the iPhone X last year.
