Apple planning to ‘restore sales’ with new iPhone X colour
According to Japanese blog MacOtakara, Apple is planning to introduce a new iPhone X colour in an attempt to ‘restore sales’, fuelling earlier reports of a luxurious ‘Blush Gold’ color option launching in the future, alongside a possible PRODUCT(RED) iPhone X to support the global RED charity.
The vague report from Japan notes “for the purpose of restoring sales of iPhone X, Apple plans to release a new color”. Earlier in the week, OnLeaks writer Steve Hemmerstoffer claimed a source has reported a new red colored iPhone(s) could be on the way, hinting Apple could release a PRODUCT(RED) iPhone to match what was done last year with the launch of the short-lived PRODUCT(RED) iPhone 7.
The Apple Post reported last week that leaker Benjamin Geskin has suggested Apple could be working on a new ‘Blush Gold’ iPhone X, supposedly codenamed D21A that is “in production” ahead of an official public launch later this year. – The ‘Blush Gold’ finish appears to be similar to the Gold iPhone 8.
Reports of a ‘Copper Gold’ iPhone X came in thick and fast in the run-up to the launch of the handset back in September, however those claims never materialised. One suggestion was that similar to the delayed launch of the white iPhone 4, Apple wasn’t able to find the perfect color shade of gold in time to release the handset alongside the space gray and silver devices.

It’s possible Apple could unveil the new device during their ‘Let’s take a field trip’ event on March 27 which is expected to see the launch of a lower-priced MacBook aimed at students and a new entry-level iPad, alongside publicly releasing iOS 11.3 that features ClassKit and Classwork.
