Apple details what content sources HomePod supports
We’ve known for a while the HomePod will be able to stream from Apple Music, but that was about it. Now, a week before it’s official launch, Apple has given more information on what sources you can play music from.
HomePod’s tech spec page now lists the following as a compatible audio source:
- Apple Music
- iTunes Music Purchases
- iCloud Music Library with an Apple Music or iTunes Match subscription
- Beats 1 Live Radio
- Podcasts
- AirPlay other content to HomePod from iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple TV, and Mac
While a subscription will be required to listen to Apple Music, you will no however have to have a subscription to stream from Apple’s Beats 1 radio station.
Pre-orders began last Friday, the 26th of January and the product is set to arrive on shelves next week, February 9th.
