Apple Pay to launch in the UAE, Denmark, Finland, and Sweden by December
As revealed by Luca Maestri during Apple’s Q3 2017 financial earnings which saw the company beat Wall Street expectations by announcing $45.4 billion in revenue, Apple Pay is on track to launch in the United Arab Emirates, Denmark, Finland, and Sweden by the end of the year, with Maestri claiming Apple Pay accounts for 90 percent of all mobile transactions around the world.
Since launch in 2014, Apple Pay has made it’s mark around the world, with Apple most recently expanding into Italy.
Celebrating the success of their home-grown mobile payment service, Luca Maestri said:
Apple Pay is by far the number one NFC payment service on mobile devices with nearly 90% of all transactions globally. Momentum is strongest in international markets where the infrastructure for mobile payments has developed faster than in the US. In fact, three out of four Apple Pay transactions happen outside the US. – And with the launch of iOS 11 this fall, users in the US will be able to make and receive person-to-person payments quickly, easily, and securely.
