UK carrier EE extends their six-month free Apple Music promotion to “pay monthly” and SIM-only customers
As of next week, UK carrier EE will be expanding their six-month free Apple Music promotion to all their “pay monthly” and SIM-only customers. The promotion started in September 2016 with the company offering customers with either new or renewing contracts the chance to enjoy this exclusive network benefit, however as announced by Marc Allera, EE’s CEO, on Twitter on Thursday the company is readying a much larger roll-out to all their “pay monthly” and SIM-only customers.
According to Marc, listening to Apple Music as part of EE’s new promotion won’t use any of the users data, meaning EE customers can stream any of the 40 million songs on Apple Music without worrying about data usage or roaming costs. The temporary data exemption will be available to people already paying for Apple Music, but those customers won’t be able to get the free subscription period.
EE is the only UK carrier to offer such a promotion, however other carriers around the world such as Australia’s Telstra and Germany’s T-Mobile have been doing so for some time.
