Apple releases firmware update 3.7.2 for AirPods
Apple is rolling out what appears to be bug fixes and performance improvements for AirPods via firmware update number 3.7.2 which will automatically be installed onto the wireless earbuds once connected to a paired iPhone.
As of yet, Apple hasn’t commented on the release of the latest version of firmware so the tweaks made within this release are officially unknown. The last update to AirPods arrived back in February, fixing an issue which made some AirPods drain battery quickly.
AirPods have been available since 2016 and are still shipping with up to a six week wait in most countries. In our review of the new wireless wonders we went hands on to discover why the earbuds launched as one of the most anticipated Apple accessories of the year.
How to check your AirPods firmware version:
1) Ensuring your AirPods are paired correctly with an iPhone or iPad, open Settings on your device and go to → General → About. From here, scroll down until you see a label named AirPods.
2) Once the AirPods label is shown (only if AirPods are connected), tap on the AirPods button and check if you’re running version 3.5.1.
