Apple begins to send out press invites for their main WWDC Keynote on June 5
After confirming the dates back in February, Apple has today started to send out press invites for their main WWDC Keynote on June 5 when the company is expected to unveil the next generation of iOS, watchOS, macOS and tvOS software.
Tickets, which were priced at $1,599, were distributed by random selection at the end of March, and free tickets provided to scholarship winners were also handed out in April. This will be the first time WWDC will be in San Jose since 2002— the conference moved to San Francisco in 2003 and has continued to be hosted at the Moscone Centre in San Francisco until now.
According to Apple’s Phil Schiller, WWDC 2017 will be about the same size as previous conferences—about 5,000 developers and 1,000 engineers. The cost of tickets to the conference will also remain the same.
Apple says that it will still live stream all the sessions and provide video after the fact, for people who do not get a ticket to see the show in person.
