Angela Ahrendts celebrates the opening of Apple’s 35th “next-generation” US based retail store
On Saturday Apple opened their new, relocated Jacksonville, Florida retail store at the previous location of clothing retailer Forever 21, launching as Apple’s 35th “next-generation” US based retail store in a 9,100 square feet bright and airy unit which echoes the Jony Ive inspired layout and design making its way across the world.
The new Jacksonville store is roughly twice the size of the original unit it is replacing, with the Jacksonville Business Journal reporting Apple hired Sajo Inc. as the contractor handling the build, with the firm said to of picked up a $3.47 million permit to build out the space.
The store is very similar to Apple’s other “next-generation” locations, with Apple introducing large glass doors, bright light boxes which extend the length of the ceiling, sequoia wood tables and shelves along the walls and new seating for personal set-up and Genius Bar customers.
