Apple appears to be in the final stages of preparing for the launch of Apple Pay in Germany and Italy
Apple looks to be preparing Germany and Italy for the launch of their mobile payment service, Apple Pay; with the company quietly updating their support documentation to translate the “About Apple Pay” document to German and Italian last week.
So far, Apple Pay can be used in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, China, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, France, Hong Kong, Russia, New Zealand, Japan. Other countries (as well as Germany and Italy) that are set to receive the service in the immediate future include Taiwan, Poland and South Korea.
While Apple’s newly updated Apple Pay literature doesn’t provide any information on which banks will support the mobile payment service at launch, it’s expected that banks in both countries shall reveal further details closer to the launch.
Apple Pay’s most recently launch country is Spain, with the contactless payment service available to customers of Banco Santander, Carrefour, Pass, Amex and Ticket Restaurant, with Apple Pay said to be accepted in 75% of retail stores across Spain.
