How to pair AirPods with older Apple products, Mac, PC, and more
Now that AirPods have started arriving on doorsteps and inside retail stores, it’s time to start pairing them with your devices. At Apple’s revealing there was no mention of how or if the AirPods would be able to connect to non-Apple devices. Luckily you can. And it’s easy too!
The W1 chip built-in makes pairing with newer Apple devices a breeze; just set them next to each other. Of course if your device doesn’t support Handoff, you’ll need to go through manual pairing steps. To do so you will:
- Ensure that the EarPods are docked inside their case
- Open the lid on the case but don’t remove the EarPods
- On the back of the charging case you’ll find a circular button. Press and hold the button until the LED light between the two AirPods begins blinking
- Begin pairing like you would any other device through the Bluetooth settings
That’s all there is to it! If you did happen to be one of the lucky ones who snagged a pair, let us know how you like them by leaving a comment either below or on our social media pages.
