Famous department store, Galeries Lafayette, is reportedly closing their Apple Watch store-within-a-store
French site, Mac4Ever, has today reported that after first opening in 2015, famous department store, Galeries Lafayette, shall be closing their Apple Watch “store-within-a-store” in January due to poor sales; with Apple suggested to be relocating staff to Apple Stores at St Germain and elsewhere in the city.
According to the report, which is ‘99% certain’ that the Apple Watch sales area will close early next year, the four full balconies which Apple occupies has seen staff numbers decrease leading up to the rumoured closure, and a lesser interest now that Apple has quietly discontinued the solid gold Apple Watch Edition, with Apple seemingly focusing more on the sport and fitness element of the high-tech wearable.
Last week; The Apple Post reported that department store chain, Macy’s, has officially opened their Apple store-within-a-store at their New York Herald Square location, retailing a range of Apple products including the iPhone, iPad, MacBook and Apple Watch.
